Occasionally, news stories provide information that comes as no surprise to readers. Such is the case with The New York Times story reporting Attorney General Michael Mukasey's naming a special prosecutor to look into whether or not former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, members of the Bush White House and a number of congressional Republicans should face criminal charges stemming from the firing of nine U.S. attorneys in 2006.
It was the most anticipated debate between vice presidential candidates Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Sarah Palin in history - much more hyped than the debates between the men at the top of the tickets, Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama. According to Nielsen Media Research the veep candidates garnered a 45 household rating in the 55 metered markets Nielsen measures. That translates to almost half of the homes with TV's were watching the two duke it out.
Final passage of the financial rescue bill by the House Friday after the Senate passed its version on Wednesday.
